Monster Bass Challenge Crowns a Winner
Richard Osborn wins the 3 day tournament
Story by Mike Picou
There’s big bass tournaments and then there’s “Once in a Lifetime Big Bass Tournaments”. The ESPN Outdoors Bassmaster Series offered 12 spots to a monster bass challenge for some “Big Bass” category winners during the 2006 EOBS season. The rules were simple, catch one of the largest 2 bass in your division during the 2006 season and win an all expense paid trip to Angler’s Inn Lodge on Lake El Salto, Mexico for the “Monster Bass Challenge”. Richard Osborn from Carrolton, Texas qualified for a spot on this exciting adventure with a 8-14 hawg he landed during the third tournament of the season for the Chaparral division at Richland Chambers reservoir. The angler who catches the largest bass for the tournament would win a $25,000 voucher for Angler’s Inn and second place would receive an $11,000 voucher.

Mike Haroutunian
By BILL MAYS
WON BASS Staff Writer
Mike Haroutunian of Fresno is one of the anglers on the tour circuit that can win a tournament at any time. He has the talent to get that kicker bass in his bag when he comes to the scales and continues to bring quality bass to the scales in the WON BASS Tour.
"Tournament bass angling in the 70s and 80s you only needed a limit to make the top 20," said Haroutunian. "In today's tournaments, you better have more than one kicker in your bag to make the top 20."

ACTION HEATS UP AT EL SALTO FOR MONSTER BASS TOURNAMENT
BY BOB SEMERAU
Special to Western Outdoor News
Lake El Salto, Mexico---The temps were in the 90's, and the humidity not far behind, when Lake El Salto became the site for the Anglers Inn Monster Bass Team Tournament last month. While those in the competition with some experience at the lake noted that it was the hottest they'd ever seen there, the competition promised to become even hotter for the title of Monster Bass Team Champs at El Salto.

If you want to read the definitive article about Anglers Inn/Lake El Salto, read this article by the guys at TackleTour.com. Sure, because of a couple of hurricanes last October it made the fishing go a little crazy at the lake but the fish are still there! The trip they are talking about happened June 18-22, 2007. I was there and Shimano tore them up! Since then we have had 2 very successful Monster Bass Tournaments.
I will have more on the tournaments and video by September.
Zander & JIP from TackleTour.com are the real deal. They report honestly with hands-on investigation what is up with all terminal tackle and baits. They do their homework and can be trusted. Their web site is a daily read for the serious and recreational angler
