Kickin' Ass on topwater!
By Billy Chapman Jr.
You just can’t beat “taking ‘em off the top!”
Bass fishermen may debate about everything from lures colors to hook
sizes, but there’s one thing on which they have unanimous agreement.
It’s that nothing compares to watching a largemouth bust into a surface
lure. If your heart doesn’t turn a somersault or two when that happens,
it’s time to quit fishin’ and take up crossword puzzles.
Why do I mention that subject? Because it’s something we’ve been
hearing from one client after another ever since we opened our
beautiful new lodge on Mexico’s Lake Mateos. “The top water fishing is
the best I’ve ever seen,” is a comment we’ve heard time after time over
the past month.

October 16th-31st at Lake Mateos |
Wow!
That one word is a good choice to describe the reaction of the few
anglers who have had opportunity to visit our new Anglers Inn lodge at
Mexico’s Lake Mateos. We had a limited number of anglers who signed on
to be our guests during the two weeks prior to our grand opening on
Nov. 1. Most of these fishermen had previously visited our operation at
El Salto.

El Salto Is In Great Shape!
El Salto is
in great shape as we begin the 2007/2008 season here at Anglers Inn. Rain has
been bringing the lake up steadily for the past couple of months. Right now the
lake is holding at 100 per cent full pool.
This
represents a dramatic change compared to conditions we experienced a year ago.
Last year the hurricane saw the lake climb some 25-feet in just 24 hours. The
result was it scattered the lake's bass population all over the
place.

More Monster Bass Details |
MONSTER BASS Challenge
By Ronnell Smith/BASS, Editor.
When the team of 8 Bassmaster Weekend Series anglers arrived at Angler's Inn, they had no idea what to expect from the famed Lake El Salto. It did not take long, however, for them to realize they were just a cast away from the fish of a lifetime or, better yet, a fish that would net one angler the $25,000 first-place prize.

Big Bass Zone Monster Bass Tournament Report |
Monster Bass Challenge Crowns a Winner
Richard Osborn wins the 3 day tournament
Story by Mike Picou
There’s big bass tournaments and then there’s “Once in a Lifetime Big Bass Tournaments”. The ESPN Outdoors Bassmaster Series offered 12 spots to a monster bass challenge for some “Big Bass” category winners during the 2006 EOBS season. The rules were simple, catch one of the largest 2 bass in your division during the 2006 season and win an all expense paid trip to Angler’s Inn Lodge on Lake El Salto, Mexico for the “Monster Bass Challenge”. Richard Osborn from Carrolton, Texas qualified for a spot on this exciting adventure with a 8-14 hawg he landed during the third tournament of the season for the Chaparral division at Richland Chambers reservoir. The angler who catches the largest bass for the tournament would win a $25,000 voucher for Angler’s Inn and second place would receive an $11,000 voucher.
