TackleTour.com Reviews our Trip (The El Salto Experience-Inside the Anglers Inn)

tackletourlogosmall.jpgIf you want to read the definitive article about Anglers Inn/Lake El Salto, read this article by the guys at TackleTour.com.  Sure, because of a couple of hurricanes last October it made the fishing go a little crazy at the lake but the fish are still there!  The trip they are talking about happened June 18-22, 2007.  I was there and Shimano tore them up!  Since then we have had 2 very successful Monster Bass Tournaments.

I will have more on the tournaments and video by September.

Zander & JIP from TackleTour.com are the real deal.  They report honestly with hands-on investigation what is up with all terminal tackle and baits.  They do their homework and can be trusted.  Their web site is a daily read for the serious and recreational angler

Lake Mateos Fast Facts

lake_mateos.jpg

It’s big, it’s beautiful and it’s brim full of bass! Sound too good to be true?

There is such a lake---all 55,000 acres of it. And one of the best parts is that the fishing pressure is almost unbelievably light. These are the primary reasons why we’ve decided to open an Anglers Inn Lodge at Western Mexico’s Lake Mateos in November, 2007. Our Anglers Inn operation at Mexico’s El Salto Lake has garnered world-wide attention now for years. You can expect more of the same when we open our new Anglers Inn operation at Lake Mateos early next year.

El Salto Lake Is Producing Season’s Best Bass Action

Some of the best known bass anglers in America were among our late June guests at Anglers Inn Lodge. Many were here as part of two different groups. We know you’ll recognize some of their names as we get deeper into this report. Shimano Rods & Reels brought one group to El Salto Lake. The second group came with Berkley Fishing Tackle. Anglers in both groups put a big time hurt on El Salto Lake largemouth while they were with us.

The 42 experienced experts in the Shimano group estimated they caught and released more than 7,500 bass during their trip. Many of these fish were in the 6, 7 and 8-pound range. They also had fish in the 10, 11 and 12-pound category.

El Salto Lake Seeing Year’s Best Action

When was the last time you hooked and boated 12 bass out of 14 casts?

My guess is that’s it has probably been awhile. But that’s exactly what one of our Anglers Inn customers told us he did when he was on El Salto Lake recently. This past two weeks has seen the best fishing of the current season.

There are a number of reasons. One is that while the water in the lake is down, it’s not as low as it was last year. Another is that after all the high water we had to start this season the fish are finally back where they usually are this time of year. Our experienced guides can put you on ’em.

Early And Late Surface Fishing Is Good At El Salto Lake

Like to take your bass off the top? Darn near everybody does. The opportunity to do so has picked up sharply over the past two weeks here at El Salto Lake.

As you might expect, recent Anglers Inn clients have had their best success fishing surface baits early and late in the day. The Pop R has been one of the most effective lures.
