Lake El Salto opens up with a Bang! The topwater fishing has been out of this world with many customers having 75+ fish days. Husband and wife, Cici and Dave both caught the biggest fish of their lives. Cici hooking a 15.4 lb largemouth bass and her husband landing a 13 pounder. There has been many fish over 8 lb’s caught this month as one can see by the numbers above. Many of the fish have been coming on sluggos. This has been the hottest bait for the month. Inserting a tiny plastic rattle seems to be producing a bit better than normal. The Green/cream color "Bass Assassin" with twin tails is the hot color. "Walking the dog" has been producing some big hogs as well as the pop’r. Working all of these baits extremely slow is the key.
Jay Clark hooked and landed an 11 lb, two 10 lb, and 3 nine lb bass. His partner, Jerry Renolds caught an 11 lb, two 10 lb, and one 9 lb bass in three days of fishing! Billy Drake, son of long time A-Team member Don Drake, caught a 13 lb, 11 lb, two 10 lb, and an 8 lb bass.
