ADDITIONAL INFO: Most of the big fish are coming on soft plastics in about 25-35 feet of water. The temperature is getting hot down here south of the border. About 50% of the Big fish are being caught on plastic worms, 25% on Crankbait, and 25% on spinner baits. The “Hoo Daddy” is made by Gene Larew lures. It is similar to a brush hog but has a garlic scent. I believe this could be a factor. Brush hogs will also work but make sure to bring your garlic scent spray. A lot of customers have landed Big fish along the cliffs on the lake. Throughing the Texas rigged worm right at the edge of the cliff and then hang on for the “twin tugs”. Kevin Butler from Midland Texas has breaken the lake record with a 18.5 lb bass. He caught it on a 10” red shad worm Texas rig. He also landed a 17.2 lb bass in the same day. Jeff Maronpot from Florida hooked and landed a 13.4 lb, three-10 lb, and one-9 lb bass in three days of fishing. The numbers have been down at lake El Salto but the big fish are exploding through the roof. See you fishing!
