ADDITIONAL INFO:
The following information has been supplied to Anglers Inn by 2 repeat customers that have pre-fished El Salto on September 11-14th. As expected, the fishing has been a little tough due to the quick rise of the water level. The lake is full and is going over the spillway. See above the BIG FISH that John & Ron has landed in their 4-day stay. On a number basis, here is how they did: On day 1, they landed 81 bass, day 2-72, day 3-63, and day 4-153. This is an average of 92 bass per day per boat. Most of the fish have been caught in about 3-10 ft of water. Most of the BIG FISH have been coming off deep points and cliffs on plastics. A 3/16-ounce to 7/16-ounce bullet weight is recommended. The top water action has been slow but one can catch many numbers on sluggos and hard jerk baits early in the mornings and late in the evenings.
Rattletraps have been working extremely well during mid-day especially the silver/blue & silver/black color. Letting the trap sink to about 12-15 ft of water and giving it a crank and pause technique has been the secret.
