ADDITIONAL INFO:

The fish are still in the transition between the spawn. Some females are on the bed and the others are in pre-spawn mode in about 12-16 feet of water. Most of the big fish have been coming deep on plastic worms and lizards. The number one color for plastics worms is black with a blue tail. The best color for lizards is watermelon. Be sure to bring the other colors listed above because the fish may change their color pattern. The "Snake" from California Worm Company is producing big fish. It is exactly what it is called and comes in 12 inches. The best color for this new hot bait is watermelon and black with blue flake. Crankbaits have been productive in the citrus color as well as baby bass in the deeper water but one can also throw a shallow runner in the shallow water and usually catch numbers of smaller bass. The pattern has been pretty much the same as the earlier reports as for fishing the banks and catching some numbers or fishing deeper waters for the bigger fish but just not so many. The choice is yours! The other dayWhile I was fishing with a good friend, Charlie Lindsay, he was landing a nice 9 pounder on a Carolina rig and I had a monster bite on a Fat free shad. We both were screaming and carrying on about the amazing double that we had hooked up at he same time. They both made it to the boat. Senko and Kinami Flashes are still working like a champ up tight to the bank. Some big bass were caught on the 7" Senko.
