ADDITIONAL INFO:
The bass have finished the spawn and have moved to deeper water. Most of the bass are being caught in about 10-25 feet of water off the edge of the trees. Senko fishing is still producing quality bass in the trees. The 5” Flashes and Senkos will produce numbers of big fish. To try to avoid the smaller “popcorn” bass, we are throwing the 6”-7” Senkos. The most productive color has been watermelon and black with blue flake. Be sure to bring plenty! There were 7 – eleven pounders caught this report. The biggest was caught by Chuck Aedo and it tops the scales at a whopping 12 pounds. He caught this fish by Carolina Rigging a watermelon lizard. Most of the 11’s have come on Storm Swimbaits or Carolina rigging lizards. Bill Hollenbeck landed an 11.12 pound bass on the Storm swimbait and stated “Outstanding – Largest fish of my life”. This bait is still producing big bass but not so many numbers. If one is patient and fishes the swimbait, you will come in with a big bass. The lake is starting to warm up as is the air temperature which should make the bass even that more active. Joey “B”, who has the 5 fish record, ended up with a 9 pounder, 2 – 8 pounders and a 7 mostly on lizards. He did say that he lost a couple of “monsters” at the boat. That is just the way it goes. The topwater bits has been slow due to the temperature of the water and the post spawn bass. This year’s spawn was great and there are literally millions of baby bass in the lake which provides for a great season next year. Some customers have had success on Gene Lerew’s “Whodaddy”. The best colors are watermelon and black and blue. We are Carolina rigging the 6” plastic on the flats, humps and drop offs
