ADDITIONAL INFO: The spawn is pretty much over except a couple of stragglers still waiting to spawn. The post spawned bass have moved to deeper water in search for cooler temperatures. The best bait for big bass has been the 6” Storm Wild Eye Swimshad in the White with a Chartreuse top color. Pearl white, Shad and Golden Mullet are also great colors. Be sure to bring enough down for your bass fishing extravaganza. The anglers are slow rolling the swimbait on the bottom. When one is fishing the swimbait, there are not as many bites on it but the bites that you get are usually big fish. If one is looking for numbers, soft plastic jerkbaits and 6”-8” watermelon lizards will do the trick. Still plugging the bank in the morning with Senkos & Flashes in the watermelon color could produce an 80 fish day. Most of these fish are popcorn fish but there are some quality ones in there as well. Carolina rigging an 8” lizard in the open water finding the drop offs has been productive. Deep diving crankbaits are starting to produce some quality fish especially when the wind picks up in the afternoon. The DD22 and the Fat Free Shad in the Citrus color are the best ones to bring. We are working the 3/4 ounce spinnerbaits the same way as the swimbaits. There was an 11 pounder caught on a chartreuse spinner in about 25 feet of water. Most of the fishing is done in 15-25 feet fishing the humps, flats and drop offs. The fishing this week has been fantastic and I believe that there is no other lake out there that can compare when it comes to big bass. Chad Allen landed a 13.4 pounder on a swimbait along with many other quality bass. There has been 4 fish in the 12 pound range caught within the last 5 days and many 11 pounders and under. Many customers are leaving with their biggest fish of there life. Joe Bullock, who has the 5 fish record at 67 pounds, will be coming in tomorrow so be on the lookout on the next report for Joey B to have another great trip.
