ADDITIONAL INFO: The beginning of the New Year started out great with many double digit bass coming in especially on the Storm Swimshad. On the 10th of January we experienced something out of the ordinary for January. It has been raining for 4 days straight which has shut the big fish bite down for a couple of days. It has been a bit colder than it has been (but warmer than it usually is). Most of our customers are fishing 5” – 6” Senkos or Kinami Flashes on the bank and catching numbers of bass. There has been some 6-8 pound bass caught on the bank on soft plastic jerkbaits but the majority of the bass have been in the 1-2 pound range. The topwater bite has improved dramatically on Pop’r s. Again, the same size bass with an occasional bigg’in. The Zara Spook has produced some monster bass but will weed out your littler fish. The best color has been silver with a black top. Richard and Dolores Mort, on there 4th trip here, ended up with “the best fishing day of their lives” by coming in with a 9, 10, 10 and 13 pounder. All of these fish were caught on a 5” White with a chartreuse top Swimbait. Rattletraps are doing well when the fish are chasing the bait fish. The best size has been the ¾ ounce Trap in the Silver with Blue back and also the Silver with Black back. Some customers are also doing well on the bleeding baby bass Trap. Hard jerkbaits will catch some nice fish on the banks such as the Yo-Zuri Crystal Minnow.
