Additional Info:
Many big fish bellied females coming in during the spawn. Most of the bigger fish have been coming off the banks by fishing weightless Senkos or Flashes wacky style. Some topwater action early in the mornings and late in the evenings with Rico Pop R’s and Zara Spooks. It seems that the bass are eating the Senko better. Hard plastic jerkbaits have been producing some quality bass off the bank and points. During the mid-day, most anglers have been Carolina rigging either 8” lizards, 10” powerworms or 5” to 6” Senkos. The best colors have been watermelon seed, watermelon red flake, watermelon candy, black and blue flake and junebug. Be sure to bring plenty because when you get on a good bite the Senkos tend to go flying.

O-rings can help you save you Senkos by putting the o-ring around the bait and slipping the hook under the o-ring. The anglers that are will to throw deep diving crankbaits have been doing well. Terry Crafton was throwing the DD22 all day yesterday and came in with 6 fish over 7 pounds including a 10 pound bass all on the DD22 in the white color. Joanne Drake landed the monster bass of the report which tipped the scales at 14.1 pounds. She landed that bass up on the bank with a 6” Senko. The guide said that the fish came up close to the boat 3 times before she finally gave up. In the net it went and right to the scale. 14.1 pounds!! Great job Joanne! The amount of quality and big fish that have been coming in has been mind blowing. Anglers are also landing many male buck bass up on the banks. Some of the post spawn bass have been suspending out off the releases and crankbaits have been the ticket. Tommy Green landed some big bass on top, Carolina rigs and Senkos. His biggest topped the 10 pound mark. Most of the females are up on the nest and being caught shallow. Some have already spawned and are out suspending waiting to be caught. Terry Wuest caught this bass on a Senko fishing it wacky style
