El Salto February 2007

Having been fortunate to have traveled extensively around the world to fish, I can say with sound conviction that the service from everyone associated with The Anglers Inn is absolutely first class. If you even think you need something, one of the employees has already thought of it first and is delivering it to you. Kind of like Radar in MASH. It starts with cold beverages waiting for you in the van at the airport to hot coffee at first bell to start your fishing day.

The food was the true surprise of our trip. As good as any destination lodge anywhere in the world and better than most restaurants. You will not leave the table hungry at The Anglers Inn; if you do, they will pack you a to go box of anything you want. We had them make up a half dozen breakfast burritos every morning to snack on till lunch. Delicious!

The rooms were clean and comfortable with very powerful air conditioning. You should sleep well each night after a hard day of fishing.

The predominate lures used were Wacky rigged 5" Senkos and 5" Swim Baits. Colors always change so check with Tony or Chappy for specifics. Many Bass were in a post spawn suspension between 15' and 25' of water although primary and secondary points provided good action all week.

The nets as always presented limitations to your fishing.

Overall great trip - will return soon - probably Fall.
